‘within easy reach’ – a chance to win the cover art
This is reminder that I am offering a chance to win the painting on the cover of my book ‘within easy reach’.
~
~
To win this painting, you have to do three things.
- Purchase my book through my publisher’s website (www.chapelstreeteditions.com)
- Leave a comment on any of my Blogs (www.nichepoetryandprose.wordpress.com or www.janetims.com or www.janetimsdotcom.wordpress.com) with the words ‘within easy reach’ somewhere in the comment
- Be prepared to send me, via email, a scan of your purchase receipt.

The cover painting ‘brambles’ is done in acrylics, size 10″ by 10″, with gallery edges.

February 29, 2016 ‘brambles’ by Jane Tims

Your name will be entered once for each book purchased. The contest will run for the first five weeks following the publication date of within easy reach (until June 7, 2016). At the end of the contest, anyone who has purchased a book from the publisher and left the comment as described above will be entered for the draw. I will notify the winner and let the readers of the blog know who has won.
~
I hope you will enjoy my book. And some reader will be the winner of the painting ‘brambles’!

Jane, did I read in one of your posts that you are going to be signing copies of your book somewhere in June or did I dream that? I can’t find the reference. If so, I’d love to come.

Hi Jane. Yes, at Westminster Books on June 9 at 7 and at the York Regional Library sometime near the end of June. I’ll be reading too. I also have a signing/reading on June 2 at 6:30 at the Library in Woodstock. I am so happy with my book; I found the perfect publisher in Chapel Street Editions!

Hi Jane, I’ve ordered my copy of your book within easy reach directly from your publisher and can’t wait to get it. I don’t know any other authors so this book is a real special treat and I’ll have to get it autographed, which is within easy reach since we don’t live all that far apart. Can’t wait for your next book to come out, I’ll be getting that one too.

I’m sure I will. We’ll have to get together sometime for lunch or coffee or tea or something. Been too long since we’ve seen each other. Take care and talk to you soon.

I ordered three copies of “within easy reach” from your publisher, one for me, two for special gifts . They arrived in the mail today. I was nearly teary by the time I opened the book to read. You’ve waited so long for a book to publish. It’s beautiful both poetically and visually. I am so excited for you. You must be so proud of this achievement, Jane. Congratulations!

Hi Carol. I’ve wanted a book of my own since I can remember. I loved writing these poems. I hope they give a realistic look at eating local and food foraging. The berries are delicious in taste, smell, look and feel. But there are thorns in the picking and poisonous plants out there too. I hope the poems encourage people to remember their own ‘foraging history’ – picking fiddleheads at this time of year, for example. Enjoy the read! Jane

Great idea, Jane, and not just the book within easy reach, eh? Does it count if I buy a book directly off you? Or is it only online from the publishers? I’m not worried either way. I love the painting by the way.

Hi Roger. Thanks! The way I have it set up, the chance to win the painting is only by ordering from the publisher. There will be an opportunity to win another painting (called ‘berries and brambles’) if you purchase the book at any of the upcoming venues (including the book’s launch at Westminster Books, June 9, 2016). Jane 🙂
