warm room
We had another snow storm last night. In our winter climate, can anything compare with being settled in a warm room with a cup of tea, perhaps reading a good book, and listening to the storm throw handfuls of ice-pellets at the window glass?
As I write this, I know everyone is not so fortunate.

Jane, the phrases in this poem softly caress. It is simply lovely, and conveys that lovely sense of being warm and cozy inside on a stormy wintery day beautifully. I salute you for your ability with words – and thank you for your encouragement of my posts. Jane

Hi. I am glad you like the poem. We won’t have many more winter days to ‘enjoy’! Jane

What a huge quantity of snow – I love how it outlines the branches. I’m wondering when Spring will arrive in your part of the world – we’ve got lots of primroses flowering in the garden & the daffodils have just about finished!. I like the poem- it’s very evocative.

Hi. It will be a while before spring. We tap the maple trees for sap and the days haven’t been warm enough for that yet. You have daffodils! I am jealous. Jane

Yup, I love that cozy, tucked in feeling to be enjoyed in the winter. I love the reflected blues in your photo and the line, “kettle and cat are purring”…

Hi Barbara. Thanks for your comments. The blue stained-glass snowfake is a gift from my son at Christmas, made by a local artist. To tell the truth, my kettle does anything but purr… it has a whistle with an ear-piercing shriek! Jane
