Lunch at the cabin

with 7 comments

Spending a day at our cabin is so much fun. And lunch there is simple and delicious … something about fresh air, I think.

~

Our lunches range from very simple (cheese and a nut/raisin mix) to soup and salad ( we have a hot plate to cook on).

Our lunches overlook our woods and in winter, we have a glimpse of the lake.

  1. I love the look of the lunch and the view 🙂 Maybe I’ll pop over one day around noon – LOL.

    • Oh, you would be so welcome. Today we heard loons and saw thousands of the Asian ‘ladybugs’!

  2. Our camp days are very similar, and they remind me that I need*need*need periods of simple in my life. At the camp, with no electricity or running water, our days are idyllic…Pat loves working in the woods; I get much more writing done than I can at home. I take frequent breaks (walks about the property), cook meals on a hotplate, or as you have done: cheese and nibbles. It is easy to spend time just listening to the sounds, without the niggling voice in the head that says…’you haven’t done yet…what about the laundry…weren’t you going to email ?’ Gratefully, we are going tomorrow so we can enjoy some of this beautiful autumn.

    • Hi Deborah. We have electricity, but my power bill stays at the minimum. No clocks there either. I think of it as Whisperwind Time ( name of cabin is Whisperwind).
