pasture grazers and sea-creatures 7-23

On this virtual bike trip, I saw lots of animals – not surprising in an agricultural countryside.
There were sheep grazing beside the road …

cattle in a pasture at the top of the cliff …

and a man walking his dog along this part of the South West Coast Path …

Although I didn’t stop to see any, there must also have been tiny sea creatures to catch in the shallows along the beach. The beach-side shop in Gorran Haven sells small nets to catch them – I hope there was a note to say ‘please return these creatures to the sea’ …

Best View: the Cornwall coast near Penare …

Hi Tracy. Thanks! I still can’t do much botanizing – can’t get a good look at those leaves. Jane

You would have been pretty disgusted about 15 years ago now during the animal sickness in the UK, can’t recall the problem but when you came back to Canada you had to walk through a solution to kill it . Anyway driving through the countryside all you saw was dead sheep everywhere. They killed the entire herd and left them just lying in the fields. It was unbelievable.
Anyway so many years later most forget. I have seen so much in my life…international travel has been a joy and a curse. I think maybe the virtual bike ride is better than the real thing.
Need a water color of the Hills in back of Calistoga. Will send you some pictures.

Hi. Following Street View, I have come to realise that every snapshot in time would give a different picture. For example, I see people in the midst of home renovations and sometimes the image isn’t pretty, lumber and scaffolding everywhere. I think how put out they must be to see their home presented this way on Street View. I think the animal epidemic must have been awful to live with or to see. I’ll be glad to do you a watercolour of the hills! Jane
